CALVIN "FRIDGE" BRYANT
THE MAN BEHIND THE MOVEMENT

Who is Calvin Fridge Bryant?
Fridge was a high school football star who received a full athletic scholarship to Tennessee State University. His life took a turn in 2008 where he was arrested near his home at the Edgehill Housing Projects and was later convicted of selling drugs.
There were no weapons or force involved, and it was his first offense. His problem: his home was located within 1,000 feet of a school. Because of that, he got an enhanced penalty, 17 years, serving time in the same prison as convicted murderers on death row.
Several Nashville elected officials agreed that a 17-year sentence was too much for a first time non-violent; drug offender. This led to his subsequent release in 2018. Since then, he has become a voice for change in the Tennessee justice system. In 2015, he founded "Positive Inner City Kids (P.I.C.K.)" where he focuses on mentorship and guidance of the youth in the area.
He is well known for his leadership and community service, but more importantly, he helped change the law that landed him in prison. He released his first book titled: Both Sides of the Story, which was voted a Barnes & Noble Best Seller.
